PCC 2006 Captain’s Meeting Notes
(Note: there will NOT be a face to face meeting)
First game is Friday at 8:00 pm
Last game will end at approx. 4pm on Sunday.
Banquet is at the Holiday Inn in Victoria (food at 7pm (tent.))
Referees meeting at 5:30 pm on Friday (at the pool) - all designated refs are to attend (if you aren’t in town yet, please read the document by Simon Talbot)
Wall set up will take place on Friday (11am start) - all volunteers welcome! Wall takedown will commence immediately after the final game in each pool (lots of help needed!)
12 players allowed on roster but only 10 per game, all players must be members of CUGA/USOA Roster must be submitted (to ref table or Marie-Rennee) before first game.
Round robin games are 12 min halves, playoff games are 15 min. halves
No timeouts in round robin.
One timeout/team/half for playoff games.
If playoff game is tied after two halves, game will go to sudden death overtime (first goal wins)
Black will start on the bleacher side of the pool (white is on wave-pool side)
Subbing will be in the water on the side of the playing area (if we can configure the pool appropriately – if not, traditional, out of water, end subbing).
Captains and vice captains must be designated with a C and VC respectively
BEFORE the game starts. Only these players are allowed to speak to the referees
during a game. No designation = no talking to the referee.
Teams must designate one water ref each for the game immediately following. Names must be written on the white board (or similar) prior to the start of your game or a penalty will apply.
No swimming under the bulkhead.
Mouth guards and ear protection are mandatory. No single-lens masks.
Players’ caps/headgear must match stick colour (e.g., black stick – black or blue cap; white stick – white cap)
No swearing, etc.
Points awarded as follows: win 2, tie 1, loss 0, forfeit -1
Tie breaking procedure: first is head-to head result, if still tied
Then goals against, if still tied coin toss
Players may warm-up in the end area beside the playing surface (not the space next to the bulkhead, though)
Anyone (including kids) wanting to use the wave pool, slide, etc. must pay a separate pool entry fee (and get a wrist band).
Food is available for purchase at the cafeteria upstairs or at the grocery store (a 10-minute walk away).
